Brazing Fluxes
When metals are exposed to air, a chemical reaction occurs that leads to the formation of oxides. Oxides are the main surface contaminate on base metals. A brazing flux is necessary to prevent oxide formation on the surface of base metals as well as to help with their removal. By preventing oxides, flux reduces surface tension and promotes freely flowing braze alloy
