This
family of alloys is widely used for the joining of copper and copper
alloys. Phosphorous is a temperature depressant and acts as a fluxing
agent, while the silver influences the fluidity and improves ductility
of the alloy. Refer to the Performance
Chart for information on how the silver and phosphorous content
affect alloy flow. For a complete product listing see our Silvaloy
Copper Phosphorous Reference Chart.
Silvaloy #0 (BCuP-2) MSDS
Sheet
Copper and phosphorous alloy offering excellent liquidity for tight
fitting joints. Used extensively in the Heating, Ventilating and
Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry to make preform rings for evaporators/condensers.
Bellman-Melcor has supplied over two billion rings for this market.
Melt Point = 1310°F Flow Point = 1350°F
Silvaloy
#2 (BCuP-6) MSDS
Sheet
Combination of low silver with high phosphorous creates very good
fluidity. While not quite as liquid as Silvaloy #0, tight fit-up
is recommended.
Melt Point = 1190°F Flow Point = 1300°F
Silvaloy
#5 (BCuP-3) MSDS
Sheet
Delivers moderate liquidity and improved gap filling compared
to Silvaloy #0. The 5% silver content provides good economy when
compared with Silvaloy #15.
Melt Point = 1190°F Flow Point = 1300°F
Silvaloy
#6F (BCuP-4)
MSDS
Sheet
Developed especially for use as a preform alloy, the phosphorous
content delivers good liquidity while the silver improves ductility.
Melt Point = 1190°F Flow Point = 1275°F
Silvaloy
#15 (BCuP-5) MSDS
Sheet
A popular copper phosphorous brazing alloy. Offers superior ductility
and is the preferred choice when joint clearance and brazing temperature
control are less than ideal.
Melt Point = 1190°F Flow Point = 1300°F
Silvaloy
#18M (BCuP-8)
MSDS
Sheet
A very fluid alloy suited for tight joints. Its low brazing temperature
and narrow solidus-liquidus range makes it ideal for applications
where temperature is a factor or in cases where extended heating
rates are encountered - such as furnace brazing.
Melt Point = 1190°F Flow Point = 1220°F
